NUR 2061 - Obstetrical Nursing 1 Credit
Prerequisite(s): NUR1050, NUR1140, NUR1143, NUR1145 or NUR1131, NUR1134 & NUR1135 Co-requisite(s): NUR2073 This eight week course will focus on pregnancy, the birthing process, the care and support of mothers and infants as well as the family system. Students will develop an understanding of new self-care requirements and potential self-care deficits related to pregnancy. In addition students will identify dependent-care needs of newborns, and potential dependent care deficits within the family system. The course includes lecture and clinical experience assignments in health care agencies and community settings. Principles of pathophysiology and nutrition are integrated into the course.
